Compare nearby providers of double glazing in Leeds

Double glazing has long been a godsend for homeowners and business owners in the Leeds area, as well as other areas of West Yorkshire such as Bradford, Wakefield and Halifax. Of course, it’s literally harder to smash double glazed windows, so you’ll feel safer and more secure in a building that has them.

However, there are many other reasons to get in touch with Leeds double glazing providers, such as the greater amount of heat that it allows you to retain within your structure’s walls. As much as 20% of a home’s heat, after all, is lost through the windows.

This massive amount of heat loss naturally forces you to spend more money, quite unnecessarily, on the adequate heating of your home. We say “unnecessarily” because with Compare My Local, you can quite easily compare the prices of different Leeds double glazing installers.

One of the classic problems of price comparison services is that they only show you the lowest prices and not necessarily point you in the direction of better quality products and services. That is not the case with us, as we thoroughly check over every company before they are allowed to advertise through us.

Double glazing in Leeds: the latest news

If you are interested in carrying out energy-efficient improvements to your home or business property such as replacement front doors, insulation or double glazed windows, then you may already be familiar with the government’s Green Deal scheme, which is designed to help people like you to make such changes happen.

The programme has, however, seemingly been delayed, at least until now. That’s because it has recently been announced that Leeds is one of seven local authorities – the others being Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham and Newcastle – that will share in £12m of funding designed to kick start the Green Deal scheme in these areas of the UK.

The money will better allow the benefitting local authorities to test out key elements of the scheme, including the assessment procedures and installation work. The government has also just announced a ‘first come, first served’ cash-back offer for homeowners carrying out improvements. More than £1,000 could be claimed back by the homeowner as part of each package, depending on how much work they arrange to have undertaken.

It is, however, a limited offer with finite funds. To be eligible, prospective buyers of double glazed units for their Leeds home will also need to get a Green Deal assessment done and contact a Green Deal provider to arrange for the work, in addition to financially contributing towards its expense.
