Double glazing is one of the most effective choices for homeowners looking for energy saving ideas. Double glazed windows can help retain up to 20% of your home’s heat, which would otherwise be lost through single glazing. This means that you use less energy to keep your home warm, so you spend less money whilst also saving energy. In fact, according to The Energy Saving Trust, you could save up to £165 a year. uPVC windows are also more secure than single glazing, and so help to keep you and your family safer. There are various different locking methods available to choose from, and double glazing is made from toughened or laminated glass, which is much safer than a single pane of glass which can be easily smashed. In addition, double glazed windows also provide more insulation against outside noise, such as traffic noise, helping to make your home more peaceful.
