Compare checked and vetted Bristol double glazing Installers

Bristol residents, and for that matter those living in other parts of South West England like Bath, Exeter or Gloucester, are likely to appreciate a home that is energy-efficient as well as pleasant to live in. Many Bristol homeowners and business owners are struggling to make ends meet right now, which may make double glazing a fine investment – not least as the best double glazing units will tend to last for as long as twenty years or more.

Of course, you could always just draw the curtains every night if you want to keep more of your home’s heat inside. For many people, though, this just isn’t enough. What they want is to have double glazed windows installed by a local company that has a good reputation and that can provide a guarantee for the work undertaken. They want double glazed windows that can save them as much as £165 a year on their energy bills by virtue of retaining more of their property’s heat.

However, most price comparison websites for double glazing firms in Bristol or elsewhere in the UK can only direct you to the best prices... and nothing else. Compare My Local is different, as we carefully check every such company before it is allowed to appear on our site.

Double glazing in Bristol: what’s new?

Double glazed windows are highly attractive features of properties for investors, as was aptly demonstrated at the penultimate auction of 2012 for Besley Hill, where “strong bidding” was reported. Taking place at the Bawa Pavilion lounge in Filton on 25th October, the auction saw four lots for sale, with one property being number 7 Atlas Close in Fishponds, in the north-east of Bristol.

The property was a purpose-built, first-floor, one bedroom flat offering not only double glazing but also gas central heating and allocated parking. Its attractiveness to investor/landlords helped to push bidding to £66,000. Another property at the auction to feature double glazing was number 6 Whiteway Court, St George. It, too, was a purpose-built flat with a single bedroom and a parking space. Despite some water damage to the property and the need to change the kitchen and bathroom, bidding on this one reached £65,000.

Successful auctions like these, along with various other public and private property developments, illustrate the continued value of double glazing for buildings in Bristol and its environs.
