Compare Quotes from Security System Installers in the South East

The South East of England is one of the most densely populated areas of the country, and as a result, household related crimes, such as burglary, are more prevalent in many areas of this region. Homeowners wishing to protect their properties from the threat of intruders have many options available to them, such as indoor or outdoor CCTV systems, or home alarms. Alarm systems can be as simple as a bells-only alarm, through to a fully monitored and maintained system.

The benefits of having home security are mostly two-fold. The main advantage is that your home has some protection from the threat of criminals. Not only that, but a property with a visible security device is much less likely to be targeted compared to a home with no security measures. Also, some home insurance providers will reduce premiums depending on the level of security in place.

The Latest Security News in the South East

The police force in Ashford has recently conducted a month-long operation to crack down on antisocial behaviour and criminal activity in some of the borough’s villages, including Pluckley, Egerton and Charing. Operation Cleansweep’s aim was also to include building community relationships throughout the villages in Kent. As part of the operation, officers from Kent Police, Ashford Borough Council, Kent County Council and Kent Fire & Rescue offered advice on home security, fire safety and crime prevention to members of the public and local businesses. Door to door visits were also carried out, and home security devices were given out, such as timers, door chains and home alarms.

Elsewhere in the South East, a thief in Essex, dubbed the ‘Pot Noodle till thief’, has been caught on CCTV stealing cash from supermarket tills. The man has been given the unusual nickname after he distracted supermarket checkout workers by pretending to buy Pot Noodles. The man has now targeted several Aldi supermarkets in Essex, and the CCTV images have been distributed by the police to help catch the perpetrator.
