Deciding upon energy saving features for your home can be difficult, and with the expense it involves, it’s important to make the right decision for you. Double glazing is one of the most popular energy saving methods in the UK, as it can help shave £165 off your annual heating bill. Homes with single glazed windows could be losing up to 20% of heat simply because the windows are not very good at insulating. Double glazed windows are much more effective at keeping the heat in your home, helping you to save money whilst also lowering your carbon footprint. Double glazed glass is also tougher than single glazing, meaning that your home is more secure and also better protected against outside noise pollution.

So, why not try our service today? We can compare a wide range of double glazing companies for you, from Ayr to Largs and Troon to Cumnock. We’ll present you with a list of quotes to enable you to pick the most appropriate company for your household. We’ll save you time and money, and best of all, our service is completely free!

Double Glazing in Ayrshire – What’s New?

Maidens Primary School in South Ayrshire has just completed a two year refurbishment programme, courtesy of the local council. At a cost of just under £700,000, the school has been completely transformed, with new carpets, fresh paint on the walls, a new obstacle course in the garden, a new disabled toilet and disabled ramps. The building has also been completely re-wired, the roof has been repaired and new energy efficient double glazed windows have been installed. The ambitious project has been undertaken whilst the school has been open, so it’s likely that pupils and teachers alike will be happy now the work has been completed and they can enjoy their new school.

Elsewhere in Ayrshire, a hotel has undergone a £43 million investment to bring it up to modern standards, whilst also paying homage to its history. The Turnberry Hotel was originally opened in 1906 and was the vision of Glaswegian architect James Miller. Today the hotel is owned by Dubai company LeisureCorp and has become part of the Starwood Luxury Collection. The bedrooms have been given a retro look, and the hotel spa has been completely upgraded.  New plumbing, electric and lighting systems have been installed along with eco heating and air conditioning. New double glazed windows have been installed, but the designers have been careful to replicate the original 1906 windows to ensure the overall look of the hotel is not affected too much. The original vision of Miller has certainly been recaptured in the Grand Tea Room, where the original pillars stand revealed, and the dining room is now called 1906, after the year the hotel was first opened.
