CompareMyLocal is one of the best information sources for double glazing in Derbyshire. Our aim is to find you the most suitable double glazing company in Derbyshire, no matter whether you live in Derby, Chesterfield, Matlock, Ashbourne or any other part of Derbyshire.

There are many reasons why homeowners choose to install double glazing, but the main benefit of double glazing is the reduction in your monthly energy bills. In fact, the Energy Saving Trust has worked out that you could save up to £165 per year just by replacing your old single glazed windows and installing double glazing. This is because double glazed windows insulate your property better than single glazing, and can make it up to 20% more energy efficient. As well as saving you money on your monthly bills, double glazing will also reduce your home's CO2 emissions by up to 680kg a year, lowering your carbon footprint and making your home more environmentally friendly.

CompareMyLocal.com has a wide database of double glazing companies local to Derbyshire. We ensure that each company we recommend is thoroughly vetted and checked, so that you get complete peace of mind from our service. We will provide you with a range of quotes from companies in areas across Derbyshire, such as Glossop, Ilkeston, Long Eaton, Swadlincote or Buxton, allowing you to make an informed choice about your home's double glazing. And don't forget, our service is completely free of charge, so what are you waiting for?

There's lots going on with Double Glazing in Derbyshire

A nine year programme to improve council houses across Amber Valley in Derbyshire has finally come to its conclusion. Housing Provider Futures Homescape started the programme in 2003 with the goal of bringing all of its properties up to the national Decent Homes Standard. The programme has consisted of all 5,500 properties owned by the provider being surveyed and resulting in 2,116 new bathrooms and 3,633 new kitchens installed. A priority of the programme was to improve the energy efficiency of the properties and to achieve this, double glazing has been installed and central heating systems added. The result is improved quality of properties providing a more affordable lifestyle to tenants through improved energy efficiency.

Elsewhere in Derbyshire, the iconic Derby Council House is undergoing a £34 million refurbishment to improve standards, without changing the aesthetics of the building. On the original external walls the bricks and stonework have all been cleaned and repaired, and all 254 windows have been double-glazed, the designs of which look identical to the original windows. Other energy efficient features to help reduce running costs include PV solar panels on the roof and rainwater harvesting for flushing toilets to save water. The project is due for completion in November 2012.
